About this place
Step past the noren curtain around lunchtime, and the natural choice is the Lunch Tendon. Topped with 2 large prawns alongside vegetables such as pumpkin, eggplant, and shishito pepper, it delivers the crisp, fragrant crunch of fresh frying under a balanced sweet-and-savory tare sauce. Located in Shikahama, Adachi Ward, Tendo prepares everything from value-minded lunch tempura rice bowls and tempura soba sets to meticulously prepared multi-dish meals.
The assortment of tiered jubako boxes and meal sets provides plenty of variety. The Tenju, featuring prawn, whiting, squid, scallop, and seasonal vegetables, and the Jo-Tenju, which adds a house kakiage fritter, are ideal for comparing different textures in one sitting. The specialty kakiage—combining small prawns, scallop adductor muscle, and mitsuba leaf—is also available as a standalone plate. For a broader feast, the Hama Gozen arranges freshly fried tempura alongside sashimi, small side dishes, and dessert on a single tray.
Seating includes both counter stools and tatami zashiki areas where diners can stretch out, catering equally well to solo meals and group dining. Bottled beer, sake from various regions, and small appetiser plates make it easy to linger over freshly fried morsels as day turns to evening. Tendon bowls and tempura platters are also available for takeout, letting customers enjoy the shop's cooking at home.
